I've been wanting to revamp this lamp for a long time. I purchased this at the thrift store wanting to use it as extra lighting for snapping jewelry pics. I wasn't too crazy about the lighting so it just ended up being a desk lamp. Today, I finally got to it and made it over.
First Step: tape off all places where you don't want to be sprayed.
Wait until dry.
Third Step: Sprayed Blue.
Here, I tried to use saran wrap to give the lamp a marbled effect used for painting fingernails. It was working perfectly until after taking this pic. The blue spray paint started coming out really dry almost instantly with a cement like texture. Lol. So I then had to change my original design and just kind of go with it. I'm really happy how it ended up but will definitely try the saran wrap again on a future project.
<<>>I decided to keep the shade gold on the inside.
I ended up just covering lamp in blue spray paint and then adding light sprays of gold all over.
Fourth Step: When dried, I sprayed 2 coats of clear sealer.
Fifth Step: Cutting off ugly plastic tube.
Sixth Step: Remove painter's tape.
Last Step: Add light bulb :)
I dig it.
